Monumental Arched Niche Limestone Wall Fountain

The tallest piece in the collection at over ten feet, this reclaimed limestone wall fountain is built as a full architectural elevation rather than a wall ornament. A carved crest of opposed volutes around a central acanthus breaks above an arched niche of coursed ashlar closed by a keystone, flanked by rusticated pier blocks stacked in deep courses. The spout is a single small square aperture, left deliberately plain against so much carving. A modest trough stands forward on its own paved plinth. Suited to estate gardens, tall courtyard walls and architectural restoration work.
