Bearded Mascaron Limestone Wall Fountain

A bearded mascaron carved in high relief holds the centre of this reclaimed limestone wall fountain, its moustache and flowing hair cut deeply enough to throw real shadow, with the ochre stain of running water still marking the panel beneath the mouth. The face sits in a moulded fielded panel on a lightly pilastered backplate under a heavy cornice, closed at each end by scrolled volute consoles. Broad rust coloured veining bands the grey stone and carries across the wide canted basin. It suits courtyards, estate gardens, terraces and hospitality projects wanting one commanding carved face.
