Ashlar Limestone Wall Fountain with a Semicircular Basin
Photographed in the warehouse before crating, this reclaimed limestone wall fountain spans more than eight feet across a backplate of large grey ashlar blocks held between two projecting side piers of rougher, paler stone. A carved palmette sits high on the centre line, and below it a worn mascaron, its features softened almost flat by water, carries the spout. A single iron ring survives to the right. The basin is a heavy semicircular trough carried on stone supports. That width suits long courtyard walls, terrace elevations and estate garden projects.
