Fielded Panel Limestone Wall Fountain with a Monolithic Trough

The interest in this reclaimed limestone wall fountain lies in its masonry rather than its ornament. A deep segmental cornice caps a backplate of rusticated quoin blocks that step in to a raised centre panel with a moulded border, the only carved element on the piece apart from the iron scroll spout fixed to its face. Beneath it sits an exceptionally heavy grey trough cut from a single block, its outer faces still carrying the vertical chisel combing left by the mason. Suited to courtyards, garden walls and architectural restoration work.
